Pedro de Alcântara is one of the four founding engineers and directors of AP2R Consultoria. He joined PETROBRAS in 1982, working on projects for the execution of drilling and completion of onshore wells. He was loaned to Macaé, where he worked for almost two years in the execution of exploratory projects in Santa Catarina, high temperature and high pressure wells (HTHP); he remained working in the management of PETROBRAS' Fluid Service until his retirement in 2020.

He participated as a member of the special group to combat influxes (kicks), serving all of Brazil and had two international participations in exploratory projects, ZINCO-01 in Angola and SINOP-1 in Turkey . He served as coordinator of the drilling and completion fluids area in the Manati gas field development. Unprecedented operation in Brazil! Drilling in a sensitive area using the “Zero Discard” technique in loco.

He was one of those responsible for developing the integrated Gravel Drying and Collection technology, enabling the use of organic fluids in offshore operations in shallow water depths and led the Safety Project along with the Drying Plant (SSC), reversing the accident trend and significantly improving its operational efficiency.

Participated in the first training course for Fluid Designers and was co-author of the PETROBRAS Fluids Manual, writing chapter 17, Well Control, published in 2011. Trained the entire Manati project execution team on the topic of well safety and also had an important participation in the Working Group (WG) of Poços de Alívio, within the program to reinforce maritime operational safety in Response to Blowout Submarine.

He worked for more than six years as Operational Manager of Fluids, serving the different regions of Brazil with the processes of drilling, completion and stimulation fluids, highlighting the development of the Pre-Salt fields and, finally, he worked as inspector of sand stimulation and containment operations within the Stimulation Boats contracted by PETROBRAS.
